Meet her at the Love Parade! SWIMMING POOL presents Portrait of a Generation: The Love Parade Family Book (1996)
The Love Parade originated in July 1989 as a “big birthday party” for techno pioneer Dr. Motte and grew out to be a political demonstration for peace through love and music.
The 1996 edition of the music festival attracted a crowd of 750.000 people under the motto “We Are One Family”. Photographer Alfred Steffen recorded more than 250 ravers during a marathon 36-hour photo-session in a roadside studio.
Resulting in a unique cross-section of those involved, a portrait of a generation that defies all attempts at stereotyping.
